If you step out of your house, surely you can able to see 7 out of 10 motorbikes don't have the rear view mirrors. Most of the people after rolling out their new motorbike from showroom to home, their first job will be removing the rear view mirrors and throwing it. Their mindset is like for improving the aesthetic of their motorbike, they're removing the rear view mirrors. Though it is very much preferable to turn our face and look back before changing the lane on highways, looking back with the help of rear view mirrors is very much essential. In India, still now most of the accident happens due to this reason of failing to look what's in our back.
In some motorbikes, rear view mirror offers us a poor quality of sighting. So in this case, the owner folds or remove the mirrors thereby not using it. Its better to go for the aftermarket rear view mirrors which is readily available in the market. Instead of spending our money in unwanted things, its better to spend money for our and others safety. To prevent any more accidents and for the rider's safety, TN government has listed out new lines for the manufacturers and dealers about the warranty of the vehicle.
Regarding this, the court has directed the Tamil Nadu Transport Commissioner requesting the dealers and manufacturers to apply new set of rules regarding warranty claim. The court has issued this lines after the advocate Mr. Ramkumar Adityan who asked the court to take necessary action regarding the motorbikes without rearview mirrors. According to this, if the rear view mirrors are removed whether it is a two wheeler or four wheeler, the warranty will not be claimed and the police can put a fine in the spot itself. If this new rule comes to action soon, lakhs of two wheeler may loose its warranty and if the same has been implemented by the manufacturers and dealers, many accidents can be avoided in the future and it makes every rider to ride responsible.
