Followed by the 650 lineups, Kawasaki has managed to launch the enduro motorcycles in our country that is KX250 & KX450 which are off-roaders. 250 is priced at Rs 7.99 lakh and 450 starting from Rs 8.59 lakh. Both the machines are serious off-roaders which comes under Motocross category which means, these motorbikes are not road legal and the bookings are started at the all authorized dealerships.
Comparing it to the previous versions, now it has got a new redesigned fuel tank & its shrouds and the foot pegs are also repositioned. Both the models are equipped with hydraulic clutch for lighter lever action, renthal fatbar which is a aftermarket part now comes as a standard part for reducing the vibration transferred to the rider and a lightweight aluminum perimeter frame for better handling and wheel traction. Bodywork on both the models are designed in such a way to control the motorbike very easily.
KX250 is powered by a 249cc, single cylinder, LC, DOHC motor. While the power and torque parameters aren't mentioned by the manufacturer, we can expect the same to be revealed by the manufacture and once updated, will mention the same. Now it comes with a electric start which isn't present on the previous models and a launch control system comes as a part of the plan on both the models.
In KX450, 49mm USD with adjustable compression & rebound damping with 305mm travel comes at the front and a monoshock with adjustable rebound damping & preload with 307mm travel comes at the rear. Braking jobs are done by the same setup like the 250 at the front and a 250mm disc with single piston caliper at the rear. It is powered by a 449cc, single cylinder, LC, DOHC motor where both the model's engines are coupled to a 5 speed transmission system.
In the motorbikes which comes under the adventure category, ground clearance plays an important role. 250 and 450 gets a ground clearance of 335 and 340mm respectively and the fuel tank's capacity is 6.2L. Both the machines are offered only in single color option that is lime green. In both the models, engine can be tuned easily with the help of DFI couplers for the choice of 3 provided maps which is programmed at the ECU already.
