If you use normal or mineral oil, it'll mix with the oil itself and runs back again into the engine. For this purpose, strainer will be present in the crankcase. It'll attract the small metal chirps towards it. While cleaning it, we can see them clearly. Even though strainer is present, problem will arise if those chirps mixes with the engine oil and it damages the cylinder linings.

During power stroke, the burnt fuel air mixture pushes the piston down in the cylinder. High pressure and heat will be produced inside the chamber. If the friction between the cylinder and piston is less, the piston can travel freely and easily inside the cylinder.
