The deal between the two iconic manufacturers that is the Bajaj and Triumph has been signed last year. This alliance has been formed to develop and produce Triumph branded motorbikes which is designed and developed by Triumph in UK and manufactured in India by Bajaj and this partnership is mainly focused in developing motorbikes which ranges from 250cc to 700c.
The most awaited product from the collaboration between Bajaj and Triumph motorcycles is facing a obstacle as the launch of their first machine is delayed. As we all know, this happened due the pandemic situation. Back then in 2020 December, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto has announced that the launch of the first product of their partnership with Triumph could be affected due to this pandemic situation. But according to the recent report, the launch is now delayed by another 6-9 months.
Initially, their plan was to launch their products in the year 2022. But due to this situation, this has been postponed to the year 2023. The report further tells that the restriction of travel between UK and India due to this pandemic situation has made the company to go for this decision. According to Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Executive director of Bajaj Auto, the motorcycles have already reached the advanced stage of development as their prototypes were ready. However, the physical presence of the Triumph engineers is necessary to inspect the prototype made and to make corrections if necessary.
The new motorbikes between the alliance is to be rolled off first from the company's new plant at Chakan near Pune. This new plant comes under operation by 2023 in which the company will also manufacture motorbikes from other partnerships like KTM and Husqvarna. This new product which is yet to be released is expected to be launched with reasonable pricing and to make heavy competition with its other rivals in its segment like CB350, Imperiale 400, GT650 etc...
