A Bengaluru based startup company named Simple Energy has now launched its first electric scooter named Simple One at Rs 1,09,999 ex showroom. This scooter stands down as a straight competitor for its other rival Ola S1. The bookings of the scooter can be made through the company's website followed by the deliveries at the upcoming months. In the first phase, this scooter will be sold across 13 states.
Propelling the scooter is a 7kW motor which is linked to a 4.8kWh Li-ion battery pack which spits the output power of 4.5kW and 72Nm of peak torque. It is claimed that the scooter can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 2.95 seconds. The battery pack is separated into two sections in which the 7kg removable battery pack is present which can be separately charged. All together allows the scooter to travel about 203km in eco mode in which the speed is limited between 40-50kmph. Unlike any other electric scooters available in the market, it uses a chain drive for transmitting the power from a mid range motor to the wheel.
Eco, Rain, Dash and sonic are the riding modes of the scooter. Other than that, it comes with a telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are done by a 200mm disc at the front and a 190mm disc at the rear. It has got a 7 inch TFT instrument cluster with IP67 certification. It also gets a Bluetooth connectivity, geo fencing, music control, call control and also a tyre pressure monitoring system.
It has got a massive 30liter boot space. This scooter is offered in four color options that is blue, red, black and white. The company is working on its fast charging system named Simple Loop in which the scooter is capable of riding 2.5km if charged only for a minute. The LED headlamp also looks great and this scooter weighs just 110kg. This scooter's design also looks minimalistic which will attract more customers towards it.
