Already I've mentioned that this Independence Day is going to be filled with the launch of electric scooters. Now, the most awaited electric scooter from Ola has been launched. The first model from the manufacturer is named as S1 and it have the other variant too named S1 Pro. The S1 is offered in 5 color options where the S1 Pro get 10 color options. We can buy these electric scooters from September 8 and the delivery begins from October across 1000 cities.
Both the variant rolls with the help of mid drive Internal Permanent Magnet Motor gives the peak power of 8.5kW and the peak torque of 58Nm. The S variant offers a range of 121km and the battery capacity is 2.98kWh. Using normal charger, we can charge these batteries up to 100% in 4 hours 48 minutes where we can ride 75km from 18 minutes of fast charging. The S1 Pro variant offers a range of 181km and the battery capacity is 3.9kWh. Using normal charger, we can charge these batteries up to 100% in 6 hours 30 minutes and the same 75km of range coverage is offered by charging the batteries for 18 minutes.
The S1 variant gets two modes that is normal and sports where the S1 Pro gets an extra mode that is hyper mode. The motor is powered by a banana shaped non removable Li-ion battery which is present below the floorboard of the scooter. The front end of the scooter gets a simple twin LED headlamp with the LED DRL ring. The charging point is present at the outer which is one of the advantage and also it has got a massive under seat storage. Front has got a single sided fork and a monoshock at the rear. Anchoring jobs will be handled by a 220mm disc at the front and a 180mm disc at the rear where both the ends are interlinked which is also called as CBS or IBS.
This scooter is also filled with techs as we all know. It has got a TFT instrument cluster displaying more information in which the interface is customizable. It also gets a onboard navigation system, smartphone connectivity, remote boot lock/unlock, infotainment system, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity and several other features. On the other hand, S1 Pro variant gets additional features like hill hold control, cruise control and voice assist. Like Revolt's RV400, it also gets a speaker in which the sound will be emitted just like the actual scooter while riding. The manufacturer will also set up charging infrastructures throughout the country to neglect the range anxiety.
With its minimalistic looks, this scooter will attract more customers as I guess. Another thing is to be noticed here is, there'll be no dealerships to sell these scooters. We can order the scooter only through online and the scooter will be delivered to the home directly. Service will also be done at home itself if we book for a service appointment. The S1 variant starts from Rs 79,000 and all the way up to Rs 99,999. The S1 Pro variant starts from Rs 1,09,999 up to Rs 1,29,999 where the price depends upon the state.
