Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has listed out the new set of vehicle scrapping policy for our country ahead of our country's 75th Independence Day. To reduce the overall pollution in our country, this new scrapping policy has been introduced in which the old vehicles which is less efficient and polluting more will be terminated. He said that all the unfit and polluting vehicles will be out phased to protect our environment.
This'll also bring a great impact for the manufacturers and industries in which the circular economy will be gained. This translates to the scrapped metals can be reused by the industries as raw materials. If a old vehicle fails to pass a fitness test during the process of fitness certificate renewal, that vehicle must be sent to the scrapping process to reduce the emission of pollutants further more.
Government also believes that, it would require at least 50-60 scrapping facilities and 450-500 automated testing stations all over the country to implement this successfully. If a vehicle passes the fitness test, then its allowed to roll for another 5 years and the same process will be continued. The government also encourages the private organizations and business peoples to work with the state governments to implement the automated testing stations.
As the raw materials are obtained by scrapping the old vehicles, the overall price of the new vehicle will be lowered and helps much in the sales. As it'll boost the sales, this'll also helps in creating more employment opportunities. I would say the government is making its move in a right way. A certificate will be provided while scrapping the vehicle. At the time of going for buying a new vehicle, if the certificate is submitted, registration fees need not to be paid. This'll also include concessions on road tax and discounts from the manufacturers.
