As a part of expanding their lineups, Royal Enfield has planned to launch more models in the upcoming months. This plan includes the launch of Scram 411, Shotgun and the Hunter. I heard like the manufacturer is also working on the 350cc Cafe Racer based on the Meteor 350. Now, the 650cc cruiser motorbike which is to be named as the Shotgun is spied testing with a heavy camouflage.
As per their plan, it looks like a new motorbike will be launched every 4 months. According to that, they've launched the Meteor 350, updated Himalayan, updated twins and now, some of the different test pieces has been spotted testing. Now, they're wrapping up for the new launch of the updated Classic 350 which is going to be followed by the launch of Hunter 350, Shotgun 350 and the Scram 411.
Although this model is not spied for the first time, it is now spied with a heavy camo covering up most of the parts. This model is going to be powered by a 650cc engine which is borrowed from the twins. The name Shotgun translates to a cruiser based motorbike which is expected to be launched by the next year. This motorbike not only going to help the manufacturer in terms of sales but also in developing the brand by globally.
In EICMA 2018, the manufacturer has showcased a concept named KX which is a bobber based motorbike. That concept contains a 800cc+ motor. The upcoming Shotgun also takes some inspiration from that concept which is showcased. In design wise, we can able to see increased rake angle to give the motorbike a cruiser look. Foot pegs are moved to the forward and we can able to see alloy wheels. In the spy shots, much of the components were covered. Low slung exhaust pipes, increased rake angle, wider handlebars, forward set foot pegs all together gives the motorbike a perfect cruiser look. We don't know whether the USDs were going to be implemented or not and the pillion backrest were seen in the previous spy shots.
As said previously, the engine is going to be borrowed from the twins which churns out 47bhp of power at 7150rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5250rpm synced to a 6speed transmission system. It looks like this model is going to receive USDs which is the first one from the manufacturer and gets a tripper navigation system like the Meteor 350.
