Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR design prototype teased

Yesterday, Triumph gave us the glimpse of the new Speed Triple 1200 RR in the form of prototype. The British manufacturer has made this prototype based on the current Speed Triple 1200 RS. Simply saying, RS comes under street fighter and roadster category where the RR is going to come under the fully faired sports machine category.

Now, lets discuss something about the teased pictures which the Triumph posted on its social media platforms. First of all, the rider is in the full tuck position which tells us this machine is going to be a race oriented one. But, its just a prototype. Anything can be changed at anytime before the launch. Anyways.. We can also able to see the clip-on handlebars.

Other thing which I've noticed is the headlamp. By seeing its design, I guess this motorbike will have a single LED projector setup unlike a twin setup in the Speed Triple 1200 RS. Who knows... But, as teased in the image, I love the design of the headlamp which remembers me the design something which looks retroish. As I said previously, It's just a prototype and there are also chances for the motorbike to get a twin headlamp setup. Below the headlamp, I could able to see something which looks like a air intake duct. Though its going to be a fully faired track oriented machine, its likely to get a RAM air intake system to get that necessary additional boost at higher speeds.

As this motorbike is going to be based on the 1200 RS, engine and other components will also be borrowed from the same. To be noted, 1200 RS gets a inline 3 cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC motor with 4 valves per cylinder tends to spit out 180PS of power at 10,750 rpm and the massive 125Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. Triumph motorbikes are known for its raw exhaust note and its crispy power output. The engine is synced with a 6 speed transmission system with a slip and assist function.

Though its going to be a faired machine, we can expect the engineers to play something with the engine tuning for squeezing out extra ponies with or without adding the RAM air system. Other than that, we can also expect the upgraded hardware components to perform and handle even more better.
