Kawasaki unveiled the new neo retro roadster that is the Z650RS globally by September 28, 2021. Now within a month of the unveil, the motorbike has been spotted testing in our country roads for the first time. Firstly I thought it as a some other model from other manufacturers. But after taking a deep look at the spied model, it is confirmed that the spotted model was a Z650RS. Yeah... Kawasaki finally making its way to launch the neo retro roadster in our country.
With the fuel tank capacity of 12L, the overall weight comes about 187kg. Telescopic forks and monoshock takes care of the suspension duty and braking duties by twin disc set-up and single disc set-up at the rear. The part I love the most is the twin analog dials for tachometer and speedometer. It is also equipped with small LCD display. But the retro look of the motorbike will be fully completed if a upswept exhaust with chrome treatment is equipped instead of a underbelly exhaust treatment. Anyways... The motorbike looks great as it is and as said previously, we can expect this model to be launched by this year end or by beginning of the 22 at a expected price tag of Rs 6.1 lakh.
Rear fender, round shaped headlamp with chrome bezel, teardrop shaped fuel tank, raised handle set-up and twin dials along with the chrome bezels also confirms the Z650RS. If the testing of the motorbike is already commenced, then we can expect the manufacturer to launch the model very soon probably by this year end.
You may question like, why a already launched motorbike is again being tested in our country roads... One thing we have to understand here. The unveiled version is the euro spec variant which means, all the parameters are tuned according to that. But coming to our country, those parameters will be changed and the manufacturer will tune the motorbike according to our environment & road conditions. But I wish the manufacturer not to cut any features for our country.
Like other 650 offerings from the manufacturer, the motorbike is equipped with a 649cc, LC, parallel twin, 8V/C, DOHC motor producing 68PS & 64Nm of peak torque and it is paired to a 6 speed transmission system with slipper clutch assist. In the euro spec model, 35kW kit is also available for enjoying the motorbike at low revs & speeds. But I don't know surely the same will also be offered to our country.
