Can we really live with EVs?

Really our world is going towards the wrong side. Pandemic situation continues still now, poverty increasing day by day and so the pollution. Though the ongoing pandemic situation taking up many life and affecting the economy of the country, there's a another big problem which directs our world to a even more critical situation which is none other than the pollution. To control this, many state governments are giving incentives to promote the sales of electric vehicles including the 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers. As we can see, couple of years made way for many EV manufacturers which also created much hype before the launch itself. Anyways... The main goal of them is to increase the transition rate and to boost it by giving incentives.

If the transition rate increases, by 2025, 25% of the vehicles on our country roads will be propelled with a help of battery and motor setup. It's just my guess. But according to me, motorbikes and scooters powered by gasoline engines will never get replaced. There's 2 reason for this thought. First one is the practicality and the second one is about the feel. Let's discuss about the former first. When it comes to practicality, nothing will replace the ICE up to date. Because, it's all about the capacity and range. Imagine you are riding a EV and you have to carry a high amount of load. Of course, EVs now a days are capable of hauling loads but not much as the petrol powered vehicles. If you try to move your vehicle loaded with more weight, more power will be required at the motor resulting in more discharging of battery level.

If the battery level decreases, the range of coverage per single charge drops automatically which becomes a problem here. Like the widespread availability of fuel stations, charging stations aren't developed and so the battery swapping stations. Battery swapping option get rids of this problem but they're only in the developing stage now. It'll take a couple of years or more for getting popularized and being effective. Just imagine that you're riding a EV in the freeway and your vehicle's battery life is about to die. You can head for the nearest fuel station where the battery charging and swapping station is present and you can swap the existing dead battery to the fully charged unit in a matter of minute.

Or imagine the fast charging technology. You can park your electric vehicle in the charging grid and relax yourself for 15 - 20 minutes at a coffee bar just to comeback and pickup your fully charged vehicle. But all these things are very far away as said previously. But in the case of petrol vehicles, it is capable of hauling more load at the same time of consuming more gasoline. But, due to the availability of gas stations, nothing becomes problem here. Of course, pollution is a major disadvantage here but the manufacturers are playing with the fuel injection and emission control systems to reduce the level of emissions.

So, peoples can go for EVs if they're about to commute daily inside the city or for short ride purposes. Compared to previous gen, EVs these days are coming with better performance numbers and better range of coverage per single charge. But we also not able to resist the amount the EVs are asking for because of the implementation of new technology and stuffs. As I said, second reason is the feel. Some of them out there are petrol and gear heads including me who just loves to hold the clutch lever, shift down, pop the clutch and accelerate. As these peoples are with suck, squish, bang and blow characteristics, nothing will replace the ICE as the feel they get from it is priceless and which they can't get in EVs.
