Tips for choosing the right Motorbike

It is very important and very special moment when we roll out from the showroom with our new bike. We have invested a lot of money and hard work in it. Surely, it might be one of the special moments in your life with your dream bike. We can't just select our bike. We can dream whatever we want. But we have to consider several factors before buying our motorbike and they are listen below...

Budget
It is the most important factor of all. Firstly, you have to decide your budget. We can think about our dream bike. But we can't buy whatever we want just like that all the time. Dreaming isn't a problem. In fact, it boosts you, it powers you, it motivates you to work harder and harder to achieve it and your goal. So firstly, decide the budget. Motorbikes are available in our market in all budget range. There's no problem if we choose a low displacement motorbike with low price. We are buying it with what we have and for our purpose which we have to look after next.

Purpose
After selecting the budget, we have to look after the purpose. Whether we want a bike for daily commuting purpose or long distance commuting or for occasional purposes. For all purposes, motorbikes are available in the market in all price range. You can't use a sports bike for daily commuting purpose and a daily commuter for track purpose. You have to think multiple times before choosing your motorbike.

Design of the bike
After deciding the purpose, you have to think about the design. Whether it should be a naked bike or sports bike or semi faired bike or it should be a cruiser bike. Here also purpose plays an important role. If you are going to commute inside a city a lot and very rarely for long distance travel, bikes like pulsar, splendor, radeon, apache or some scooters will also suits you. If you are going to commute above 100 kms a day, you can move for higher capacity motors like Apache 200, NS200, FZ or maybe a Gixxer or R15. Even you can opt for cruiser bike like meteor, dominar for commuting over 100kms/day. If you are rarely going to use your motorbikes for small works or short distance travel, you can go for scooters or lower capacity motors. If you are going to use it for track purposes, you can think about CBR, 310RR, R3 etc...What i'm trying to convey is, it is best to look for a bike according to our use and purpose only. As i said before, we are going to invest a lot of money in it. We can't go and get a bike just like that.

Ergonomics
You have to look after the riding position. It mostly comes under the design of the bike. Cruiser bikes have the relaxed seating position and bikes like R15, CBR, RC have a clip ons. So the riding position of these bikes will differ from regular commuters. So choose your style according to that. You may have come across different complaints like having a back pain, palm pain, shoulder pains etc. What i suggest is, before buying a bike, you have to test ride it multiple times. Then you can decide whether it suits you are not.

Choice
It is always better to have three or more than 3 choices for your category. You have to compare the pros and cons of the all your selection. Many of us just picking our bike just because of others suggestion and just because our friends or relatives have it. But, you have to personally test ride your bike multiple times before buying and have to compares its specs and pros and cons of it.

Mileage
All of us are concerned about this. In fact, many of us choose our bike mainly by this factor. If you need more mileage, blindly you can go for 100-110 segment. Only need for mileage is to save our money. By comparing your choices, we have to look at these parameters also.

Service
After buying, you have to periodically service your bike for good performance and economy. You have to choose the correct service station or authorized service center. At a regular interval of 3-5 months, you have to service your bikes. Make sure that you are aware of these service cost, maintenance cost also.

New or secondhand
Finally after choosing our model, we have to think whether it is going to be new or a secondhand. It depends on our budget. There's nothing shame or downgrade in buying a old or secondhand bikes. We buy according to our need and budget. There's no problem with it. The only thing is you have to check the bike multiple times if it is old one. I've posted a content about that also. If needed check that also.
