As we know, adventure and touring segment is recently gaining up more momentum in our country. In this segment, we have some motorbikes like Xpulse, Himalayan, 250 and 390 adventure and now, Honda plans to give entry to this segment by launching their new ADV named as NX200. Honda already have their adventure tour machines like Africa Twin and CB500X coming under the premium range of motorcycles which is only sold under the manufacturer's BigWing showrooms. Now, Honda has been developing a smaller entry level ADV based on their already present Hornet.
This new entry level ADV from Honda is expected to be based on Hornet and the other motorbike named CBF190X which is a entry level adventure tourer sold in China. Hornet 2.0 is the Indian version of CB190R which is also sold in China. To be noted, this CBF190X have USDs, tall wind visor, single seat setup, bash plates and so on. Upswept exhaust gives the motorbike a off-roader look and feel. But I think, NX200 will be consisting Hornet's body with the addition of a new fairing.
Powering the machine is going to be the same 184.40cc, air cooled motor which tends to churn out 17hp of power and 16.1Nm of torque. This machine may not be fully optimized for hard off-roading. But this machine is going to gives us the look and slight feel of a off-roader. A person who cruises on the freeways a lot more miles everyday will benefit from this. Besides this, accessories such as knuckle guards, bash plates and luggage carriers is also expected to be available.
