Something you need to know about the Husky Norden 901...

To be frank, I'm very much late in writing this content. Few days before, Husqvarna released a video where the new ADV named Norden 901 ridden on Iceland's volcanic plains. As the video not only depicted the beautiful backgrounds, but also the motorbike's capabilities. This motorbike is based on the KTM's 890 adventure. The motorbike is first unveiled by the manufacturer at the year 2019. Both on-road and off-road versions of the motorbike are planned by the manufacturer for the launch.

The motorbike also shares its engine, fuel tank, wheels, main frame, suspension with the 890 Adventure and Husqvarna has managed to design a retro fairing and to give the motorbike a retro feel. The concept has been displayed in the month of November 2019. What we see in the images may looks production ready. But its a prototype where the manufacturer is testing the prototypes very seriously. The motorbike rolls on the 21inch wheel at the front and a 18inch unit at the rear. Electronics includes cornering ABS, different riding modes including off-road settings and traction control system.

Instead of using a 5inch TFT instrument cluster from the 890 adventure, it borrows a 5inch full color instrument cluster from the 1290 Super Duke R. Speaking about its design, it has got a decent minimalistic fairing and a round headlamp which gives a retro feeling. The motorbike also looks purposeful as it should be and every parameters needed for the perfect adventure off-roader is integrated here which includes long travel suspension setup, upswept exhaust pipe, off-road rubbers, a bash plate which covers the engine fully, tall wind visor, knuckle guards etc..

Crash bars are integrated perfectly with the bodywork which not only improves the aesthetics of the vehicle but also protects the vehicle under extreme conditions. It looks like a Akrapovic pipe will be offered as an accessory and so the others which includes luggage carriers etc... The latest prototype which we see doesn't look different from the prototype which is displayed 2 years ago. Recently, I also heard that the company is working on the Norden 401 which is based on the 390 Adventure.

As said previously, this model has been built for two segments. First one is for heavy off-roading as we see in the images and the other one comes under the sports tourer segment. The engine from the KTM is a 890 cc, parallel-twin unit which produces103bhp at 8,000rpm and 100Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Though we don't have any info about the one which is present on the husky, we can expect the torque parameters will be altered by the manufacturer. The motorbike is expected to slide off the muds by this year end or by early 22. But it stays as a doubt whether it comes to our country. Though KTM doesn't brings their flagship motorbikes to our country, they manages to provide us with the entry level ADVs and also there's a plan for introducing the 890 Adventure to our country. If this happens, there's also a chance for this Norden 901 to enter our country.
