Recently, the Japanese manufacturer has updated the naked GSX-S1000 and now, with the addition of new fairings, GT is born which comes under a sports tourer segment. The bike is launched to replace the existing GSX-S1000F and priced at £11,599 which translates roughly about Rs 11.5 lakh. Now let's jump onto the motorbike.

The motorbike looks like a typical sports touring machine just like any other models in the segment. Raised handle setup along with the center set footpegs gives the rider a upright & relaxed riding posture without putting much effort. It seems like the main frame has been borrowed from its naked sibling but the sub-frame is redesigned. For me, the front cowl looks more lowered where the twin symmetrical looking LED setup along with the DRL is present. But, the wind visor is not adjustable and the big radiator shrouds makes the motorbike look bigger. It is offered in 2 color schemes that is Metallic Reflective Blue & Glass Sparkle Black.

To damp the vibrations better, handlebar & pegs are present with the rubber dampers and the fuel tank capacity is about 19L. All together weighs about 226kg and the seat height comes with 810mm. Powering the motorbike is a 999cc, inline 4cylinder,LC, DOHC motor producing about 150bhp which is controlled by a ride by wire system. The engine is paired to a 6 speed transmission system along with the Suzuki Clutch Assist System. It differs from the slipper clutch assist by compressing the clutch pack under hard acceleration to neglect clutch slip without using strong clutch springs. Cams along with the air box & exhaust are also new.

To improve the ride quality, both the ends gets a adjustable Kayaba USD forks and link type monoshock respectively. Braking hardware includes a twin 310mm discs along with a 4 piston Brembo calipers at the front where the rear end gets a 240mm disc with Nissin single piston caliper assisted by dual channel ABS system with no cornering function. Wheels are 6 cast aluminium alloys wrapped with Dunlop Roadsport 2 rubbers instead of 3 spoke unit on the GSX-S.

Front end of the fairing is neatly packed with the all new 6.5" TFT color display including features like full screen navigation, call alerts with responding option, music selection and much more. Electronics includes Suzuki Intelligent Ride System which packs 3 riding modes, traction control and cruise control system. For me, the rear pillion seat looks much tall but the grab rail looks purposeful & handy. The motorbike will be available on the market from the month of November this year and stands down as a perfect competitor for its direct rival Ninja 1000SX.
