Bajaj Dominar 400 with new touring accessories launched

Bajaj Auto has announced the launch of new Dominar 400 with the addition of touring accessories, priced at Rs 2.17 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Other than the touring accessories, everything remains same as the outgoing model and this new model is also offered in 2 color schemes such as black and green, which is my favorite.

So, what's new?
First thing which I've noticed is the crash guard. Now, it looks more purposeful and protects both the rider as well as the motorbike incase if something goes wrong. Present above the headlamp is a new taller transparent wind visor to deal with the windblast. Handle set-up also now includes new knuckle guards, holder for mobile or GPS navigator and a USB charging socket. But in my point of view, if the knuckle guards are provided with supports at both the ends, it would've been great.

New engine bash plate with integrated metal skid plate also looks cool & purposeful. Coming to the rear, now the saddle stay integrated with the pillion rest is also added which improves the touring capabilities of the motorbike and helps the rider very much in mounting the luggage. We can able to see riders where they fit aftermarket parts including the luggage carriers, bash plate, wind visor etc... for touring purposes. Now, all these accessories are provided by the manufacturer itself which improves the value of the bike even more.

Engine, hardware components and others
The bike tends to use the same 373.3cc, LC, triple spark, DOHC motor churning out 40PS & 35Nm of peak power & torque. It is paired to a 6 speed transmission system also along with the slipper clutch assist. All other chassis components are mounted on the perimeter frame and it is suspended using the 43mm USD forks upfront and monoshock at the rear.

Braking duties are handled by the same braking components as previous assisted by the dual channel ABS. Others includes fully digital instrument cluster, double barrel exhaust, beefy fuel tank with 13L capacity and diamond cut alloys. It is mentioned that except the saddle stay, all other accessories comes as standard. But, it would've been great if all the accessories are only optional, which allows the rider to install the required accessories, making the motorbike even more affordable.
