• We've seen a lot about motorcycles with Internal Combustion Engines and also about the rotary powered motorcycle recently. So, I searched something new about the battery operated vehicles and came to know about this electric moped named Corbett 14 introduced by a EV startup known as Boom Motors.
• It doesn't look like a scooter and looks more purposeful. I know that looks aren't everything but the bike maker here tried to maintain the low profile which looks cool. By looking its design, it perfectly suits for urban cruising and daily short commuting I'd say.
• Parameters like simple body works, exo-skeletal frame, amount of legroom space and practicality impressed me very much. All lightings are LED units and I like the way in which both the front & back turn indicators are fabricated in the frame itself. Looks cool... Aren't they?
• This moped comes in two variants namely standard and EX which is priced at Rs 86,999 & Rs 1,19,000 respectively. Both the models are propelled with a help of hub motors. Only the capacity of motor & battery matters here.
• Standard variant gets a 3kW motor hooked to a 2.3kWh battery pack and this combo assures a top speed & range of coverage of 65kmph & 100km respectively. Top of the line EX variant is installed with 4kW motor and 4.6kWh battery pack which gives a top speed & range of coverage per single charge of 75kmph & 200km respectively. But the above mentioned numbers could vary in the real word condition which purely depends on the load and working environment.
• It is mentioned by the manufacturer that the batteries on both the models can be charged within 2.5 - 4 hours. Battery packs are swappable and gets 5 year warranty which is also very much welcomed.
• As said previously, all chassis components are mounted on a double cradle type exo-skeletal chassis and also it gets 7 year warranty. The frame is suspended on a leading link suspension set-up at the front which is 4 point adjustable and twin struts at the rear which is also 4 point adjustable.
• Braking duties are handled by disc system at both the ends and of course, they're synced together. The moped rolls with a help of 14" alloy wheels and all together helps the moped to haul a load weighs 200kg max.
• This moped is offered in 4 color scheme that is blue, red, green and black. Other than that, it has got a under seat storage capacity of 30L and other features such as tracking app, accident/theft detection and so on...
