Husky Norden 901 enters the off-road segment

• After unveiling the concept version of the motorbike 2 years back at EICMA 2019, the manufacturer gave us the glimpse of the motorbike multiple times in the form of spy shots and video teasers. Now, the most anticipated off-roader breaks cover and its ready to hit the dealerships.

• It is built for both tarmac and off-road, standing down as a multipurpose vehicle. What differentiates this model from other adventure off-roaders is the circular LED headlamp and retro styled fairing which absolutely looks cool. It stays true to the adventure category by the implementation of long travel suspension, upswept exhaust, raised & adjustable handle setup & seat and torquey engine.

• Underneath the skin is a KTM derived motor that is a 889cc, parallel twin, DOHC unit churning out 105hp & 100Nm at 8,000 & 6,500rpm respectively. Now, this model became the bigger and powerful offering from the manufacturer for those who really love some mud & dust.

• The engine is paired to a 6 speed gearbox with slipper clutch assist. The engine is stuffed inside a steel trellis frame in which the engine itself acts as a stressed member. The frame is suspended using a 43mm WP APEX USD forks with rebound, compression and preload adjustability at the front and WP APEX monoshock with rebound and preload adjustability at the rear.

• Anchoring jobs are handled by dual 320mm disc rotors with radially mounted 4 piston calipers at the font and 260mm disc rotor with 2 piston caliper at the rear assisted by switchable cornering ABS function with street and off-road modes. 21"/18" wired spoke rims at the front & rear is a added advantage here in which both of them are wrapped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubbers.

• Fuel tank's capacity comes about 19L and the motorbike weighs about 204kg dry. Other electronics includes ride by wire tech, dedicated riding modes (street, rain and off-road), explorer mode (in which it adjusts the throttle response and traction control to our own liking), 9 stage traction control, cruise control and bi-directional quickshifter.

• 5" TFT instrument cluster with mobile connectivity feature also comes as part of the plan for music selection, call alerts and turn by turn navigation assist. Heated grips & seat is offered as an accessory for those who really likes to take their machine to the poles.
