• I've seen many people where they rev the engine like anything in the morning for warming it up. Should we do like that??? The answer is definitely no... When a motorbike is parked all night long, then the engine oil all over the head and block drips and settle down on the sump. At the time of cranking the motor early morning, no oil will be present at the head and block. Some amount of time will be taken for the oil pump to distribute the engine oil to the head and bore assembly via separate passages. If we rev the motor fully once after cranking it up, without the oil film friction will be increased which leads to the decrease in overall life. This will not happen all of the sudden. But if you tend to continue this habit again & again, then the problem will expect a lot of money from your pocket. So, once after cranking up the motor, leave it at least for half a minute for the engine oil to be circulated. This is both for carbureted as well as fuel injected motorbikes.
• In the above mentioned situation, we can use the choke valve if it is a carbureted engine. In the fuel injection system, ECU controls the fuel air mixture automatically with a help of closed loop system. I've seen many where they twist the throttle at the time of using the choke valve. The main use of the choke valve is to restrict the air flow thereby feeding the engine with rich air fuel mixture which results in cranking the motor without any struggle. When the throttle valve is opened while the choke valve is closed, there's no meaning of using the choke valve. I too have a old carbureted engine and used to crank up the motor at the morning times. I just hold the choke lever and kick start the engine without keeping my hand on the throttle twist grip. The engine cranks up in the first kick itself and after several seconds I'll release the choke lever.
• Bikers all over the country have started to install a hazard module on their motorbikes where all the 4 turn indicators winks at different pattern. Is it really necessary? Definitely yes... We can use hazard lights when our motorbike is parked on side of the freeway or when our motorbike is broken down. We can use them at the foggy conditions where visibility becomes a problem. Blinking or flashing lights grabs our eye's attention very much and this helps much in low visibility region or even in a heavy rainy time. Just using it frequently doesn't make any sense.
• Instead of stickering our social media's account ID, we can actually sticker our name and blood group in our motorbike or in our helmet. Because if something horrible happens, no followers from our social media are going to come and help us where mentioning our blood group helps much in case of any emergency. Our world and people in it are moving with the trend... Right?? If anyone installs a bubble visor or winglet on their motorbike, within a week everyone starts to install it on their motorbike too without knowing the real purpose of it. Each & every individual should know the purpose of everything they go after and have to think out of the box for their safety.
• Even if I step out of my house now, 8 out of 10 motorbikes will not have the rear view mirrors. I don't know what's the problem with the rear view mirrors as they're provided for our safety. Many accidents in our country happens only due to this rear view mirrors where people fails to see what's in their back. Even the rear view mirrors are present, they're folded which is totally useless. Number of accidents could be avoided if the rear view mirrors are used in the way it meant to be.
