New Bajaj e-scooter spied testing for the first time

• Before electric scooters and motorcycles picked up much heat in our country, Bajaj Auto and TVS Motor Company gave us the Chetak and iQube which had decent amount of range of coverage per single charge and battery capacity. After the launch of these two products, we now have handful of electric products which even created more hype before the launch itself.

Updated Bajaj Chetak spied testing for the first time

• Now, it seems like the Bajaj Auto is not ready to get off the segment and testing another product to sustain in the highly competitive and developing segment. Due to the emerge of more startups, Chetak really didn't do well in the sales recently. This directs the bike maker to update the existing product it seems. It's still not clear that whether the spied mule is a updated version of Chetak or new product itself.

• The test mule was spotted alongside the ongoing Chetak model. By comparing it both, clearly we can able to see that both the models are not same and under heavy camouflage. Floorboard and legroom looks spacious and the bodywork looks beefy.

• Clearly the new pillion grabrail is visible and I think the wheelbase of the scooter is increased. It do look like the seat is split type. But its not sure and if there's going to be a split seat design, I think its for the option of battery removal.

• Rear end of the scooter is fabricated only with tail lamp and turn indicators where tyre hugger accommodates the number plate which looks premium. The scooter will be propelled with a help of hub mounted motor and we can expect some increase in performance and range of coverage where motor's and battery's capacity is unknown.

• Sitting above the steering head is a traditional Chetak styled round shaped instrument cluster. This time we can expect some inclusion of new features like mobile connectivity for navigation assist. I don't know sure but it seems like the suspension duty at the front is handled by the existing trailing link setup.

• As the scooter looks production ready, we can expect the bike maker to introduce this model in the first half of next year and it should have a attractive pricing to compete with other models in the segment.
