After a long wait, Triumph finally introduced a new model in the 400 lineup. Yes. A Jackpot for the neo retro lovers. The motorbike I waited for such a long time and also which prompted me to write this post.
Jumping into the bike, It shares the same heart and chassis. The retro styled semi fairing is added staying true to the Cafe Racer design elements and the Thruxton lineup. 398cc LC single cylinder is equipped to spit out 42bhp and 37.5Nm of torque. Paired to the motor is a 6 speed transmission system with slip and assist clutch.
Leaving unnecesary fancy electronics apart, throttle is played by ride by wire tech. Dual channel ABS to meet the safety regulations. Removable rear seat cowl, lowered clipons, rear set pegs adds more essence to its category.
Now what's missing?
It would've been great if the Triumph have given the wired spoke rims instead of those chunky alloys. Box sectioned swingarm along with the conventional dual shocks also. Instead of analog tacho, there's speedo out there. A
Nothing wrong about the launch. Today's gen will love this kinda stuffs. To attract more retro enthusiasts, Triumph should do more analog stuffs like introducing special editions staying true to the word retro.
