Few days before, development mules were spotted testing which looks similar to the V3 making us wonder whether its going to be the next generation R15 or R2 or R3 or R25. Yesterday, we got some info about a new motorbike in which the manufacturer has trademarked a name that is R15M. By going through all the possibilities, I've mentioned in that post that it could be a new R15M. But some other sources strongly believed that it must be a R2 or the R25. As the motorcycle looks somewhat similar to a current version, I strongly suspected that it must be a next generation R15. A new set of detailed photos has been circling around the internet very fast, pointing out that it's a new R15M.
In my previous post, I've mentioned that the manufacturer uses the M tag for their performance oriented motorbikes. Firstly, let's see what are all the changes made to differ this motorbike from the current V3. The front end of the motorbike is redesigned where the dual pod LED headlamp is replaced with a single projector setup which looks inspired from the R7 along with the integrated DRLs. Simply saying, its going to be a premium version of the current V3. The dimensions of the vehicle are also similar to the current version.
The body panels and the fairings also looks revised where the new wind visor is added. I've heard that the changes were also made on the exhaust. But, it looks as the same one as the V3 for me. In the new leaked photo, the motorbike gets the MotoGP treatment which the MT-15 and FZ25 has also received. This MotoGP treatment also gives the motorbike a feel which is ready to redline at the tracks. The major update includes the addition of the Upside Down Forks which is very much expected by the enthusiasts and the budding riders all over the country. Pillion footrest holder is now made of cast aluminum instead of tubular steel.
The clip-ons are also lowered somewhat compared to the current version. We can also able to see the same indicators as utilized in the V3. But, what others expect is the LED winkers. Another thing which is very much expected is the new revised and updated instrument cluster with connectivity features. Personally I don't have any opinion on the new instrument cluster as I don't have interest in the connectivity features. All I expect is the tuned engine. As this motorbike is going to come under the M segment, the performance should also be high. So, we can expect the manufacturer to do something with the output power and torque parameters. Surely, this variant is going to cost higher than the standard variant. My guess is this variant is going to cost Rs 15,000 - 20,000 more than the standard variant.
