Kawasaki has updated its Z900 for the year 2022 starting from Rs 8,42,000 ex-showroom. The only update is the color scheme. No changes were done both in terms of mechanical & hardware wise. It is offered only in a single color scheme namely metallic spark black and everything has remained same as its predecessor.
Design elements
The motorbike looks rugged with its monstrous appearance along with the traditional Z type LED headlamp and muscular fuel tank. With its latest evolution Sugomi styling, it gets a low positioned head, upswept tail and sharper lines. Exhaust is raised somewhat higher allowing to lean more at corners.
Engine & others
Powering the motorbike is a 948cc inline 4 cylinder, 4V/C, LC, DOHC motor producing about 125 PS & 98.6 Nm of torque at 9,500 & 7,700rpm respectively and it is paired to a 6 speed transmission system. The source of power & other chassis components are fitted in a high tensile steel trellis frame and overall, the motorbike weighs about 212kg with a fuel tank capacity of 17L.
Hardware & electronics
Steering head is equipped with 41mm USD forks which is capable of adjusting for rebound damping and spring preload adjustability and the suspension travel comes about 120mm. Rear end is equipped with a monoshock with linkage which is also capable of adjusting for spring preload and rebound damping. Rear suspension travel length is about 140mm and it is hooked to a double sided swingarm. Braking duties are handled by twin 300mm petal rotors clamped by 4 piston calipers up front and single 250mm petal rotors with single piston caliper at the rear. Both the ends has got 5 spoke 17" alloys wrapped with Dunlop rubbers.
Above the steering head, it is fitted with a 4.3" TFT digital display showing various info like odo, tacho, trip, gear position etc.. with the integrated Bluetooth smartphone connectivity feature in which, number of functions can be accessed through mobile itself. It also comes with 3 riding modes such as sport, rain, road and a dedicated rider mode. To act according to different environment, it has also got 2 power modes that is full power or low power mode. Low power mode limits the power up to 55% of the full power and it varies according to the engine speed and throttle position. Kawasaki Traction Control system also comes as part of the plan.
It also seems like the manufacturer has managed to provide the motorbike with their K - Care package which has been implemented on the 650 lineups few days back. The deliveries of this new model is expected to begin from the end of October 2021.
