At the process of launching the BS-VI compliant products in India, Ducati has lined up the new Monster for the upcoming years.
Ducati India has teased a new motorbike with a hash tag #JustFun coming soon on its social media handlings. The short video clip gives the outlook silhouette of the motorbike which clearly tells us that it is none other than the all new Ducati Monster. But the manufacturer didn't reveal the launch date but by looking at the teaser, we can say its near the exit of a corner.
The motorbike is globally unveiled in the month of December last year. Instead of the previous 821, it is fitted with the 937cc, Testastretta 90deg V2, LC, Desmodromic motor churning out 111hp & 93Nm at 9,250 & 6,500rpm respectively. Compared to the previous 821, it is more powerful and also lighter by 2.5kg. The engine is synced to a 6 speed transmission system with bi-directional quickshifter & slipper clutch assist. Unlike its predecessor, this new Monster features a oval shaped LED headlamp, upswept muffler, redesigned fuel tank and rear quarter panels.
It gets USD forks and a preload adjustable monoshock with double sided swingarm at the front and rear. Braking duties are handled by the twin 320mm rotors clamped by the radially mounted Brembo 4 piston calipers at the front and a single 245mm disc with 2 piston caliper at the rear aided by cornering ABS. Fuel tank capacity is 14L it weighs about 166kg dry.
Other electronics includes riding modes, power mode, traction control, wheelie control, 4.3" TFT display and much more. Multimedia system and heated grips will be offered as an accessory. International spec variant includes 3 color options such as Ducati Red, Aviator Grey and Dark Stealth. Though the motorbike is teased, we can expect it to make its presence in our market by the upcoming weeks and it is expected to be launched with a price range starting from Rs 11 lakh ex-showroom.
