The scooter is offered in 2 battery variants and the high speed variant of the same will also be available
Energy storage solutions provider Okaya group's EV division has introduced new product to our market named Freedom. It is the third e product offering from the manufacturer where the company made its presence first in our market by July this year. The manufacturer claims that the product is fully developed in our country itself at the facility present at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. As per Okaya EV, their already present products such as AvionIQ & ClassIQ has made its presence in the market with a good response.
Managing director of Okaya Power Group, Anil Gupta has mentioned that "electric is the future and we find ourselves in a best place to design, test, manufacturer & provide our Indian people with a high quality and value for money products". The launched scooter firstly will be available in low speed range with two battery options. The high speed variant is also capable of doing 250km per single charge. Now, let's jump on to the low speed variant. As I said, it is offered in two battery options that is with Lead Acid battery and with Lithium-ion battery.
Propelling the scooter in the low speed variant is the 250W, BLDC hub motor. Lithium-ion powered scooter gives a range of 70-80km per single charge where the Lead Acid variant offers 50-60km per single charge and both the variant's top speed is restricted to 25kmph. Battery capacity is 48V 30Ah in both the variants and the battery can be charged fully about 4-5 hours & 8-10 hours respectively. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks & monoshock and braking duties by disc & drum at the front & rear and offered with multiple color options such as white, red, blue, black etc..
All other chassis components are fitted in a tubular frame and also gets LED lightings. Other than that, it is equipped with digital instrument console, reverse mode, regen braking, wheel lock and anti theft alarm. The scooter is starting from Rs 69,000 and it is mentioned that this scooter is a low speed offering mainly focused for budget buyers and for delivery based business. It is also mentioned that the manufacturer plans for extending about 800 dealers where they already have 120 dealers across the country. The manufacturer said that they aim to bring about 14 new products including a high speed motorbike in the upcoming years.
