Recently, Royal Enfield has launched its new version of the Classic 350 which is one of the most anticipated bike for the very long time. The engine is based on the Meteor and so the frame. The company claims that the design of the motorbike is inspired from the post war model G2. We know the different motorcycling cultures such as Cafe Racers and modifying culture was born on the streets of England in the mid 50s.
The company which we see today like Royal Enfield, Triumph, Norton etc... are all UK based companies. Riders of those days achieved a ton that is a 100mph with the complete absence of safety. No ABS with cornering function, no launch control, no wheelie control and no traction control. Its just a engine which transfers power to the wheel without much interruptions and sparked by a pure mechanical ignition system. The design elements of a motorbike those days were just simple as we can adopt to it very soon.
I'd like to mention here a quote "Old is gold". Peoples are just like motorbikes.. Right? Each and everyone is customized differently and everyone have different taste. Some prefer modern day motorbikes and some like me loves the vintage models. For example, a motorbike with teardrop shaped fuel tank, lowered handlebars, less electronics along with more mechanical stuffs, chrome plated exhaust and fenders, round shaped headlamp along with round shaped turn indicators & rear tail lamp is just like a motorbike from the heaven. Some loves it where some hates it as I said.

Now, you may be questioning why do you even love a machine with no modern features and stuffs. Its just only because of the feel I get. We can able to ride lot machines today either cruising down on the streets or ripping off the tracks. But, a feel that I get by riding or by seeing a vintage motorbike is totally different. I rode some modern machines and even a modern retro classics. But I didn't felt much special different by riding one of those. But I did when by drawing or seeing a retro machine or by riding it.
You might have a thought why some modern motorbike with retro looks produce less power even though it have a bigger capacity. Its not about the capacity of the motorbike. But the motorbike's history plays a important role here where the manufacturer tries to retract or maintain its tradition. I personally love Cafe Racer type of motorbikes. Its just a piece of machine which have soul I'd say. These days, we have motorbikes called as modern retro roadsters and classics which is fabricated with the both modern and retro design elements.

I'd say instead of concentrating more on this platform, it'll be well and good if the manufacturers focus more on the pure retro inspired motorbikes. Peoples started to like retro motorbikes these days as we can able to see everyone started to move after the vintage Bullets, Jawa, BSA etc.. It'll be the right time for the manufacturers to go back in time and launch the motorbikes containing retro elements to gain in the market as well as to maintain the value of the vintage motorcycling culture.
Manufacturers like Kawasaki, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Honda etc... still manages to give us the retro models in some aspect though they have the modern day sports machine. They do this to retain the vintage motorcycling culture as I said previously and to make its presence in the market. Some motorbike have a history and back stories. It'll remember the good old back days of someone and so they try to maintain & keep the motorbike with them along with the memories. I have to mention something about the restoration here. I don't know how someone is ready to scrap the vintage models they have. Instead of scrapping it, overhauling and restoring the motorbike will be a better choice to make the past appear at the future just not only for gaining a knowledge on the motorbike but to maintain its value. If one is not able to restore the models, it'll be even well and good to sell it to a enthusiast who are looking for the vintage models for their collection.
