The range of motorbikes in adventure tourer segment expands with the 2022 Versys 1000, S and SE.

In design wise, all the variants looks similar but in hardware wise there's difference along with some features. The motorbike looks like a typical adventure tourer just like any other models in the segment where the pillion seat and front cowl is raised higher. As said previously, it is offered in 3 variants namely Standard, S and SE. Recently, naked street fighter has also received a SE treatment. SE version also receives a Grand Tourer treatment with big panniers. The standard trim starts from £10,399(roughly about Rs 10.49 lakh) where the S & SE starts from £13,099(Rs 13.21 lakh) & £14,999(Rs 15.12lakh) respectively.

The power is coming out from a 1,043cc, inline 4 cylinder, DOHC, 4V/C, LQ motor churning out 120PS of power & 102Nm of torque at 9,000rpm & 7,500rpm respectively. The whole lot of power is controlled by a full fledged ride by wire system. Engine is paired to a 6 speed transmission system along with the assist & slipper clutch where quickshifter is added to the SE variant.

Braking jobs are done by twin 310mm petal rotors with radially mounted 4 piston calipers at the front and 250mm petal disc with single piston caliper at the rear assisted by KIBS(Kawasaki Intelligent antilock Braking System). SE gets a electronically damped Showa Skyhook suspension technology. Standard trim doesn't get electric rider aides & rider modes, cornering lights, TFT color display where a large wind visor, heated grips and hand guards are offered as an accessory.

Higher trim levels are included with electronic cruise control, different riding modes, traction control based on the refined Inertial Measure Unit(IMU). It also gets full LED headlamp assembly with cornering function and TFT instrument cluster with connectivity feature which helps in managing calls, direction assist and music control. It is also mentioned that the motorbike will come to sales by the late January 2022.

Standard variant weighs about 253kg which is 2kg less than S and 4kg less than the SE variant. Fuel tank capacity comes about 21L where the ground clearance and seat height comes about 150mm & 840mm respectively. S & SE receives two color schemes such as Metallic Graphite Grey / Metallic Diablo Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black and Emerald Blazed Green / Metallic Diablo Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black where the standard variant receives only single color option that is Candy Lime green / Metallic Spark Black.
