Triumph Tiger Sport 660 revealed globally

Triumph has gave us the glimpse of the motorbike multiple times before the launch where most of the parameters such as design elements were revealed. Now, the motorbike is revealed globally and it comes under the sports tourer category. Already we have Trident 660 in this platform and the new Tiger Sport 660 is also built on the same platform. It is mentioned that the product will be available from the month of January 2022.

Design elements
Its basically a Trident 660, which is added with a new semi fairing integrated with LED lightings and DRLs. The windscreen is tall and also it is adjustable. Handlebar is raised much enough and also it is wider. Centre set footpegs, single piece seat assembly along with handle setup gives the rider a upright riding posture and comfortable ergonomics. All other chassis components are mounted on a tubular steel perimeter frame and the exhaust is underslung.

Unlike the Trident 660, here the fuel tank capacity is about 17.2L which should provide a decent amount of range. Seat height is 835mm and all together weighs the motorbike about 206kg wet which looks slightly heavier for me.

Power source
The motorcycle is propelled with a help of 660cc, inline 3 cylinder, 4V/C, LC, DOHC motor producing about 80bhp & 64Nm of torque at 10,250rpm & 6,250rpm respectively. Engine is synced to a 6 speed gearbox with slipper clutch assist. Bi-directional quickshifter is also offered as an accessory.

Suspension & brakes
Front end gets 41mm USD forks from Showa and monoshock with remote hydraulic preload adjustment which is also from Showa. Braking duties are handled by dual 310mm discs with 2 piston Nissin calipers at the front and 255mm disc rotor with single piston Nissin caliper at the rear with dual channel ABS as standard.

Pillion grab handles are also placed ergonomically. Wheels are cast aluminium 5 spoke 17" units fitted with Michelin road five rubbers which gives its best both at wet & dry conditions. Switchable traction control which is standard also comes as part of the plan. Steering head is neatly packed with a TFT dash displaying standard info. My Triumph Connectivity System is optional where it is filled with other options like turn by turn navigation assist, GoPro control and responding to calls.

It also gets two integrated riding modes such as road and rain. Accessories includes twin helmet top box, luggage panniers, hand guards, engine bash plate, fork protectors, rubber tank pad, heated grips and much more. It is offered in 3 color options such as blue, red and black. As said previously, this'll hit the dealerships by the month of January 2022 and surely it'll make its presence also in our country where the price details are not reveled yet.
