• At the 5th episode of DUCATI WORLD PREMIÈRE, Ducati has introduced the new Panigale V4 and V4S. The bike maker has stated that the new Panigale V4 represents the next step in characteristic path of the manufacturer, taking life from their long time experience by implementing continuous technology and knowledge which is shared across the world of racing. Simply, they're building better machines with lessons learned from the MotoGP.
• It is claimed by the manufacturer that the improvement has been made in areas like aerodynamics, engine, chassis, electronics and ergonomics. To begin with, the fairing has thinner and more compact winglets which have tweaked efficiency. The lower part of the fairing has been redesigned to run the cooling system more efficiently which helps improving the overall engine efficiency.
• Engine is a 1,103cc, 90deg V4, LC, 4V/C, Desmo unit with Desmodromic timing churning out 215.5hp at 13,000rpm and 123.6Nm at 9,500rpm. The whole lot of ponies are controlled by a full fledged ride by wire system. There's slight improvement in the output power and this became possible with a help of large exhaust outlets, new oil circuit, lengthened first, second, sixth gear and revised electronics.
• The motorbike now have 4 power modes full, high, medium and low. The full power mode is the sportiest option ever offered which allows the V4 motor to express its full potential except in the first gear. New ride by wire map management system has been developed for high and medium power modes which guarantees the rider of having a optimal thrust when the throttle is twisted irrespective of the gear.
• Low power mode is mapped to enjoy the motorbike at minimal speed which also limits the max power of the bike to 150hp. Rider's seat and fuel tank has been redesigned to maximize the rider's performance which also minimize the physical effort required for track riding. Other design elements stays true to the original Panigale family.
• Standard V4 uses a fully adjustable Showa's 43mm Big Piston Forks at the front and fully adjustable Sachs unit at the rear which is hooked to a single sided aluminum swingarm. Coming to the swingarm, it is now mounted 4mm higher compared to that of the 21 model and this helps in stabilizing the bike under acceleration. V4S gets suspension components from Ohlins with electronically controlled internals.
• Braking duties are handled by twin 330mm disc rotors with radially mounted, 4 piston calipers at the front sourced from Brembo and 245mm disc with 2 piston caliper at the rear with Bosch Cornering ABS function. V4 uses a light weight 5 spoke alloy wheels where S variant uses a 3 spoke forged aluminum alloy units. Both of them are wrapped with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP rubbers. All together weighs the motorbike about 175kg dry and the fuel tank's capacity is 17L.
• Electronics includes dedicated riding and power modes, traction control, wheelie control, slide control, engine brake control, power launch and bi-directional quickshifter. It also gets steering damper from Sachs. This updated Panigale is expected to be available from the month of December where we can expect this models to reach our shores sometime by the first half of 22.
