TVS Apache RTR 165 RP trademark approved

In the first half of September, we've seen that the TVS Motor Company has applied for a trademark named Apache RTR 165 RP. Before the approval itself we've speculated about the motorbike much and as we all know, RP stands for Race Performance and it seems the bike maker is actually working on a even more sportier variant of the existing Apache model.

As the trademark have been approved, we can expect the manufacturer to introduce the model in the upcoming months. Just a guess.... But, it's still not clear whether the bike is going to be based on the 2V or 4V variant. I think the head of the engine will consist a 4 valve set-up for better breathing efficiency as the name suggests (Race Performance).

Both 2V and 4V version of the current model use a 159.7cc cylinder kit. As per the trademark, we can expect a bigger bore kit. Along with the increased capacity of the cylinder, we can expect some boost in power and torque parameters if the 4V head assembly is implemented.

If there's going to be a new bore kit, surely other internal components such as piston, conrod, pin, etc... will all be redesigned. For reference, current 4V setup produces 17.55PS and 14.3Nm of torque. Other than that, we can also expect some updated graphics and color schemes.

The bike maker may also saturate the upcoming model with repositioned footpegs, adjustable levers, clip-ons and sportier suspension set-up. Braking components should be upgraded if the engine is going to be tuned for spitting out extra ponies.

I expect a full fairing set-up from the manufacturer which suits for the name RP but the chances are very less because the motor implemented is going to be cooled by a medium of air. Fairing doesn't allow more air to flow through the fins and the piston will be seized in the combustion chamber if there's no enough cooling.

So the possibilities for a naked RP is very high and the design elements of the same will also be carried over. According to me, RP is just a another variant of the existing model and the bike maker will not give the bike a new design which also increase the overall cost. But, still it's too early to speculate anything deep and let's wait & watch what the manufacturer is cooking under the roof for us.....
