Bharat Group owned, Odisha based electric 2 wheeler maker EeVe India has announced the launch of their new e-scooter Soul, which is the bike maker's flagship scooter. The scooter is launched at Rs 1.39 lakh and it is planned to hit the tarmac from the month of January 2022.
Design elements of the scooter looks unique with it's X shaped DRL and LED headlamp set-up. Overall design of the scooter looks futuristic and minimalistic. Footboard area looks spacious and there's also a storage compartment at the front. Pillion grabrail looks purposeful and so the ergonomics.
The scooter is powered by a 1.2kW hub mounted motor from Bosch and it is paired to swappable Lithium Ferrous Phosphate battery unit. The company claims that the scooter is capable of doing a top speed of 60kmph and a range of coverage per single charge of 120km. But it can be achieved only at the eco mode, which restricts the top speed to 40kmph.
The scooter can be charged fully in about 4 hours and the battery pack is placed under the underseat storage compartment. This falls as a major disadvantage as there's only a minimal storage space. This affects the practicality but the performance numbers compensates it.
Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and adjustable twin struts at the rear and braking duties by discs at both the ends and they're linked together. Other than that, manufacturer offers the scooter with 3 year warranty which is good in terms of longevity of the scooter.
The scooter rolls with a help of 12" wheels and it gets antitheft lock, geo fencing, GPS for navigation assist, USB charging socket, reverse mode and keyless start. As we all know, e-scooters are best known for commuting inside the city and for short riding purposes. But at this price tag, it's still not clear whether the scooter includes the FAME - II subsidy.
