• Dot Motorcycles, a small scale British bike maker has introduced 2 new motorcycles at the Motorcycle Live, UK. One of them is a model with Cafe Racing design elements named Reed Racer and the other one is named as Dot Demon, a scrambler styled model. Both the models are implemented with Kawasaki's 650cc parallel twin motor.
• Both the models are in BTO scheme and developed in collab with Guy Martin, who tested the bikes before the reveal. Both the models differs most in the riding position. Reed Racer has got a Cafe Racer styled semi fairing and gives the rider a lower riding stance where the Demon has got a upright riding stance.
• Both the models are powered by Kawasaki's E5 compliant 650cc parallel twin motor from Z650 which produces 68PS & 64Nm at 8,000 & 6,700rpm respectively. Engine is stuffed inside a TIG welded high tensile steel trellis frame and the fuel tank capacity is 10L.
• While the Demon gives the rider a upright riding posture, it's frame also features heavy bracing to accommodate with some light scrambling. In the Reed Racer, seat height comes with 800mm where the Demon consists of a seat height of 880mm and the ground clearance also differs on both the models (Demon-210mm/Reed Racer-156mm).
• Demon also gets a under tail exhaust and the sump is heavily protected by a bash plate which is much needed for the motorbike's nature. Reed Racer is named after the company's founder Harry Reed who won the Tourist Trophy in 1908 on a Dot.
• Braking duties are handled by dual 300mm petal disc rotors with 4 piston radially mounted Brembo calipers at the front and single 220mm petal disc with single piston caliper at the rear. Suspension duties are handled by 40mm telescopic forks at the front and single shock with preload adjustment at the rear. Both of them are from Showa and they're adjustable.
• It is mentioned by the company that "Looking forward to bringing joy on the roads with our two initial models the “Reed Racer” and “Dot Demon”. The two models are hand-made and customizable to create an even more special and personalized rider-motorcycle bond. We are already working on the creation of new models and for the future electric motorcycles."
