Honda's already present adventure off-roader has been sliding through the muds and jumping off the rocks vigorously for the past few years. The motorbike is more purposeful as it should be and still stands down as one of the best motorbike in the ADV category. ADV segment is spreading across the globe more where Tuareg from Aprilia is also recently unveiled and Norden 901 wandered the network which is about to launch. In the upcoming post, will discuss about the Norden 901 and here let's discuss about the motorbike which is based on the Africa Twin.
As per some sources, a name NT1100 was trademarked earlier this year. Now, the two versions NT1100A and NT1100D was confirmed and the details such as power, dimensions, weight were also leaked. Both the motorbike use the same motor as the Africa Twin that is a 1084cc parallel twin motor kicking out 101hp and 103Nm. VFR800 is one of the middleweight sports tourer offered by Honda. But the manufacturer has decided not to update the VFRs to Euro 5 emission norms.
Now, we can expect both the NT1100A and NT1100D to fill the gaps left by the VFRs. 1100A will be a base model with the manual transmission and the dimensions are similar to the Crossrunner. The wheelbase and overall length are high in numbers compared to the Crossrunner. But the overall width and height of the motorbike are relatively same. It weighs 238kg which is 4kg lighter than the Crossrunner. 1100D also comes with the similar measurements as of the A but it weighs 10kg heavier than the A because of the Honda's DCT semi automatic gearbox.
Though we don't have any confirmation about the launch of these motorbikes, we can expect the manufacturer to unveil the model later this year. By seeing the images, the front end reminds us the adventure scooter X ADV in which the images are rendered by Auto-By, a Japanese magazine with a help of the leaked information about the motorbikes. But, by seeing the rendered images, this motorbike suits perfects for the category sports tourer.
