Yesterday, we've witnessed the launch of a new Adventure Vehicle (ADV) from the Japanese manufacturer in the form of CB200X. Really, we're not going to talk about the motorbike here as there's nothing much to talk about it. After watching the launch event yesterday, I'm pushed to a situation which made me to think, should we really need to write a content on this bike? This thought aroused in me as I expected more from the manufacturer. But, its my job to feed you people out there something about the motorbike. Really, this post is not going to be a time consuming one as we are going to see what would made the motorbike even more purposeful and the one which stands out of the crowd.
First of all, we all have to know that this motorbike is inspired and based up on the manufacturer's already present model named Hornet 2.0. Let's see what are the differences which I've noticed between the both. To begin with, the rider's seat is redesigned where the cushioning is slightly lowered to feel comfort when we lock the fuel tank with our legs. The next thing is the side panels in which the design slightly looks minimal for me. Other than that, new semi fairing is added where the headlamp tends to continue the same as the naked street fighter. The engine cowl or the bash plate also looks new and purposeful where it protects the exhaust pipe up to some extent. The rubbers present here is also a multipurpose one. Other than that, every thing tends to continue the same as the Hornet 2.0.
My expectations
When I heard that the Honda is going to bring its entry level affordable ADV in our country, I imagined more which also made me to wait for its launch eagerly. Though I know that the motorbike is going to be based on the Hornet 2.0, I expected that the manufacturer will tune the motorbike for off-roading as well as for doing long rides. What I expected is a long travel suspension, wired spoke rims, upswept exhaust pipe and the improved torque factors. The things which I've mentioned above surely could have differentiated the motorbike from Hornet. I've also mentioned many times that I know lot of hard work, effort and time has to be put together to get a motorbike into shape and I could not degrade a motorbike just by how it looks. Also I've mentioned that each and every motorbike is built with a purpose.
As I'm not comparing or degrading, I'm just sharing my thoughts here. But, Honda has done a good work in terms of improving the overall design of the motorbike. The motorbike along with the semi faring attracted me much as I have to mention it. This motorbike will be more comfortable for long rides out there in freeways and also for touring I guess. Raised handlebars, center set foot pegs, taller wind visor all together gives the rider a perfect up right position which surely add benefits for long rides without a doubt. Even, Honda also done something different by adding knuckle guards with the integrated LED winkers which also looks much purposeful.
But people's mindset will be like, instead of going for this machine, its good to go for the Xpulse from Hero MotoCorp as it contributes more off-road characteristics and also costs less than the CB200X. But my guess is, CB200X will be comfortable for the highway cruising as I haven't drove it yet. Also I guess this motorbike will attract more customers who are looking for the Hornet as well as a motorbike in 200cc segment.
