Few days before, Kawasaki has teased a motorbike with a tag of "Retrovolution is coming" and now in the new teaser, motorbike's front end has been revealed. Previous teaser is mentioned with the above mentioned tag and this new teaser revealed much part of the motorbike. The motorbike looks very retroish and different from the current Z900RS. As we all expected that the upcoming motorbike is going to be a iterated version of the 900RS, this new teased motorbike is much different. It is also expected that the motorbike will be launched in two variants in the European market and in the teaser itself, it is mentioned that the motorbike will be revealed by 27th September this year.
Unlike the Z900RS, the motorbike contains more retro elements as I said previously. It features a round shaped headlamp unit, chrome front fender, round shaped chrome rear view mirrors and turn indicators, simple Kawasaki badged retro designed fuel tank, conventional double cradle frame and single piece seat assemble along with the minimal bodyworks. Many of us expected that the motorbike will be derived from the Z650. Yes of course. But according to some sources, some of the parameters has been changed. Wheelbase of the machine is 5mm shorter than the Z650 that is 1405mm maybe due to the revised rake angle. We can also expect a revised swingarm and suspension setup.
To improve the value of a retro classic, it'll be well and good if the manufacturer offers this machine with a conventional twin struts at the rear and in the front, we can able to see the telescopic forks which also looks different from the Z650. The overall length of the motorbike has gone up to 2065mm which is 10mm longer than the Z650. This maybe due to the extended rear fender of the motorbike which may also get a chrome treatment. Its very surprising to see a motorbike with more retro elements unlike the Z900RS. Also we can able to see a twin dial analog instrument cluster probably one for the speedometer and the other one for the tachometer. Even though the manufacturer claims that "Retrovoution is coming", we can expect a small LCD display which most of the people expect. I think the manufacturer will also the launch the Cafe variant of it.
Underneath the skin, the motor will be borrowed from the Z650 which is a 649cc parallel twin unit produces about 67bhp. Though its going to be a retro roadster, surely we can expect some drop in power and also in price. Z650 is equipped with a single sided lowered exhaust. In the RS, we can expect a double sided exhaust which also likely to get a chrome treatment as we saw in the teaser. Due to the raised handle setup and the repositioned footpegs, the riding position will be upright.. Just a guess. Surely we can expect this motorbike to make its presence in our country after making its global debut. Already we have 3 motorbikes from Kawasaki in the 650 lineups and this motorbike surely will become a heavy competitor for the Royal Enfield Twins.
