Few days before, Kawasaki has unveiled the new Versys 1000 lineups globally and the model is now launched in our country starting from Rs 11.55 lakhs ex-showroom. This model has been launched with 3 variants namely standard, S and SE. Standard Versys 1000 is only launched in our country as far now. It's not sure whether it'll receive the S and SE treatment. It is available only at a single color scheme that is candy lime green. While the booking were commenced, deliveries were expected to begin from the middle of November.
It do look like a typical dual sport machine with the raised tail and nose assembly. Adjustable raised wind visor helps very much in controlling the windblast and full LED lightings never fails to dominate the darkness. Center positioned foot pegs along with the comfortable seat and raised handle setup allows the rider to munch extra miles. It also gets a luggage pannier at the rear for those who really likes to spin it for an adventure..
The whole lot of ponies are coming out from a 1,043cc, inline 4, LC, 4V/C, DOHC motor churning out 120PS & 102Nm of power & torque at 9,000 & 7,500rpm respectively. It is synced to a 6 speed transmission system along with a slipper clutch assist. Ride by wire tech helps to control those ponies and other electronics includes cruise control, cornering management, traction control and cruise control.
Suspension duties are handled by 43mm USD forks at the front with rebound damping & spring preload adjustability and gas charged monoshock at the rear with rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustability. Braking duties by dual 310mm petal rotors with radially mounted 4 piston calipers at the front and 250mm disc with the single piston caliper at the rear. Fuel tank's capacity comes about 21L and the motorbike weighs about 255kg. It rolls with the help of 17" 3V shaped alloy wheels at both the ends.
Present above the steering head is a semi digital instrument cluster with the small LCD multifunction display and a USB charging socket. In addition to that, Kawasaki also nourished this model with their K-Care package which includes extended warranty and annual maintenance contract and as said previously, deliveries of the same is expected to begin from the middle of November.
