After entering the 125cc segment successfully with the launch of Raider 125, TVS has now managed to launch another scooter in the same segment that is Jupiter 125. We couldn't say it is a updated existing 110 because lots of changes were done underneath it. The scooter is launched at the price tag starting from Rs 73,400 ex-showroom Delhi.

In design wise, it looks similar to the ongoing model slightly but it do differs. It gets a LED headlamp along with the tail lamp where the LED DRLs on the front also looks fresh. I personally love the LED DRL on this model more. Single piece seat assembly gets a slight step-up treatment and also its more lengthy now. Now what TVS has done to the new Jupiter 125 is improving the under seat storage. Now it is 33L and capable of holding 2 helmets. This is possible by means of repositioning the fuel tank. Yes... 5.1L Fuel tank has been moved to the floor board which is first in segment and also helps in better optimization of CG. Good move indeed.... Due to this, the fuel cap is now placed just above the front glove box which becomes more convenient for the rider. It also gets a externally placed USB charging socket near the key hole which helps very much along with the 2L storage space given.

Coming to the engine, all we expected is the same engine from the NTorq to be utilised. But, powering the scooter is the all new 124.8cc, air cooled, 2V motor unlike the 3V setup in the NTorq. The engine is capable of producing 8.3PS & 10.5Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm & 4,500rpm respectively. Like any other products in the same segment, it also gets a Integrated Starter Generator where the magneto unit itself acts as a starter motor. This is also known as silent start stop system and also it is added with TVS IntelliGO which saves much amount of fuel in the traffic conditions.

Front end is equipped with conventional telescopic forks at the front and 3 step adjustable gas charged single strut where all other components are mounted on a new chassis. 12" inch wheels with 90 section rubbers are present at both the ends. Braking duties are handled by 130mm drum setup or 220mm disc upfront and 130mm drum setup at the rear assisted by CBS. Top-end variant also features a diamond cut alloys. All together weighs the scooter only about 109kg.

The
scooter is offered in 3 color schemes such as titanium grey, indiblue and dawn orange. It also gets a semi digital instrument console where the speedometer is analog. Small LCD display shows various info like clock, trip meters, odometer, distance to empty, average and instantaneous fuel economy and helmet reminder. It is equipped with side stand engine cut-off feature for safety purpose. No connectivity features has been included but it'll make its presence once the demand is more. This scooter now stands down as a perfect competitor for the other rivals in the same segment.
