• Hero MotoCorp has finally trademarked a name "Vida" which is likely to be a sub-brand of the manufacturer for selling their electric products. The manufacturer applied for the names Vida Motorcycles, Vida Scooters, Vida MotoCorp, Vida Electric, Vida EV and Vida Mobility.
• As there's already a name Hero Electric, Hero MotoCorp cannot sell their EVs with the Hero name. In this condition, the manufacturer plans to design, develop, manufacture and sell their EVs and so they created a sub-brand named Vida.
• The company is gearing up for the launch of their first electric product by March 2022 and recently we've seen that the company also made an agreement with a Taiwanese company Gogoro for battery swapping technology.
• In the month of August this year, the first electric product from the manufacturer is teased which looks production during the company's 10th year anniversary celebrations.
• From the month of March 2022, we can expect electric scooters as well as bikes from this brand to compete in the developing electric platform. During their anniversary time, it is mentioned by the manufacturer's Managing Director Pawan Munjal that their products will be revealed soon as they're working on multiple products.
• They're working on their own non swappable battery technology with fast charging option as well as with swappable option from Gogoro. As we all know, range anxiety is the only thing which prevents us from entering the electric platform.
• If the manufacturer provides us with more charging stations & swappable options, then we can expect the high transition rate as state governments are providing incentives especially for this platform.
• Let's wait & watch what the manufacturer has got for us. Recently we've seen about a electric moped which can cover a range of 200kms per single charge. In the developing electric world, manufacturers have to concentrate more on the range of coverage as well as the charging time to boost the transition rate.
