Currently, 450X & 450 Plus are the two models sold by the manufacturer at ₹1,46,296 & ₹1,27,286 respectively ex-showroom Chennai. These scooters from the manufacturer are one of the most premium offerings in our country and also loaded with tech and features. To compete this e-scooter segment in our country, Ola and Simple Energy has launched its S1 & S1 Pro and Simple One which is also loaded with lot of features and also had a attractive pricing. While these scooters are yet to roll on our roads, it stands down as a best competitor for Aether's scooters.
Chief business officer of Ather Energy Ravneet Phokela mentioned that they are not worried about this. TVS Ntorq would have sold high in numbers than that of Honda Activa if the sales depends on better specs. But what happens is just opposite to what we think. Peoples are going after the scooters by receiving the overall proposition from the manufacturer apart from the specs. But, specs of the vehicle plays an important role to improve the experience and the feel & feedback of the customers.
He also revealed that the manufacturer is working on the third product of the lineup based on the 450 platform and it has already reached its advanced stages of development. This upcoming scooter's price will be priced lower than the 450 Plus he mentioned. This upcoming scooter will also be priced at the range of its rivals like the Ola's and Simple Energy's scooters. We can expect this product to be launched at the first half of the 2023 and to put it in a assembly line. He also mentioned that they're not thinking about reducing the price of the existing scooters but focusing on the new products and platforms to gain momentum on phase change and also to boost the sales.
