Few days before, Triumph teased its new Speed Triple 1200 RR and now, once again the prototype is teased exposing much details. In that post, I've mentioned that the upcoming machine is going to be a fully faired one. But, in this teased image, clearly we can able to see a semi Cafe Racer styled fairing with the round shaped headlamp assembly. Speed Triple 1200 RS is a naked street fighter and this teased 1200 RR is going to be a semi faired sports machine which may also borrows much of its parts from the naked sibling.
First thing which I've noticed is this motorbike contains Cafe Racer elements and remembers me slightly of Thruxton. First of all, it gets a semi fairing design, not fully faired. The semi fairing also looks like the one which Cafe Racer types of motorbikes have. It features a round headlamp probably a LED unit which is integrated on the fairing itself which also looks cool. The clip-on is on the lower side which gives the rider a aggressive riding posture. Rear view mirrors are also fixed on the fairing itself. Next thing which attracted me much is the vent like structure around the headlamp assembly.

Probably it must be for the RAM air intake system. Even RAM air isn't helps much on the lower speeds, it becomes effective once the motorbike rolls at higher speeds. Kawasaki uses forced induction method like supercharger for pushing more air into the combustion chamber and of course more fuel resulting in more power. We may expect the manufacturer who is smart enough for not providing the fake vents. These vents must be functional if really its going to be equipped with a RAM air intake system.
As this motorbike is going to be based on the Speed Triple 1200 RS, we can expect the same power source. The motor is a inline 3 cylinder, LC, DOHC unit which is capable of churning out 177.5bhp & 125Nm at 10,750 & 9,000rpm respectively. It is coupled to a 6 speed transmission system and also gets a electronic throttle control. My guess is the new RR will also get a traditional twin spar frame. Other chassis components includes Ohlins shocks at both the ends and braking components from Brembo. As I said previously that this one is going to be based on the RS, we can expect all the above mentioned components from the same. RS gets a 5" TFT instrument cluster which is well and good. But it'll be good if the upcoming RR gets a twin analog dial for both the speedo and tacho which makes it worth and adds even more value.
On its social media platforms, manufacturer have mentioned that the motorbike will be revealed globally by 14th September this month which makes me to eagerly wait for it. As I love these type of motorbikes with the above mentioned elements, it makes me to do so. As the RS is available at the price range starting from ₹ 17,95,000, we can expect this RR variant to be priced at least a lakh higher and this'll compete against its rivals in the same segment.
