Something you need to know about Honda CRF190L

Honda's new entry level off-roader is now ready to play dirty at the mud & dust

Something you need to know about Honda CRF190L

As we all know, Hornet 2.0 & CB200X are inspired from China's CBF190R & CBF190X which is most popular in that country. Now Sundiro Honda, Honda's Chinese arm has managed to launch the new CRF190L which is a off-road adventure vehicle and it is based on the already present road friendly CBF190X. The motorbike rolls down as a entry level ADV from the manufacturer and it looks like a baby Africa Twin for me as it gets the traditional color scheme of the same.

Body work like the enduro motorcycles also remembers the same. Tall seat and improved ground clearance of the motorbike conveys us that the motorbike is sculpted for off-roading instead of riding it on the smooth tarmac. The motorbike weighs just only about 145kg wet and have the ground clearance of about 240mm. Perfect weight to power ratio enables the rider to handle the motorbike very easily while sliding and jumping off the mud & dust. Anyways, it misses out a bash plate and I think it'll be offered as an accessory.

Propelling the motorbike is a 184cc, air cooled, SOHC motor which produces a max power & torque of 15.70PS & 15.75Nm at 8500 & 6000rpm respectively. It's other naked sibling CBF190R produces about 15.09PS & 14.5Nm. In our country, Hornet 2.0's motor is capable of producing 17.03bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm at 6,000rpm. Just for the reference... Long travel telescopic unit with a suspension travel of 180mm is equipped at the front and a monoshock is offered at the rear. Instead of the dual pod LED setup, it gets a single compact looking headlamp unit which is also a LED accompanied with tall wind visor.

Instead of alloys, the motorbike is nourished with wired spoke rims (19"/17" unit) which helps very much in off-roading and also in cutting the cost. Wheel is wrapped up with the multipurpose rubbers and braking duties are handled by discs at both the ends. All together, this model performs much better than the CBF190X and will become a perfect motorbike for the people who like to play something little with the mud & dust. It seems like the motorbike will also be offered in different variants focused on improving the motorbike's performance & handling and for rider's comfort.

As we all know, our country's Hornet 2.0 & CB200X is based on the Chinese models CBF190R & CBF190X. Now, this new addition to the lineup makes us believe that the motorbike will also make its presence in our country after sometime maybe via its other avatar. If so, disappointed folks due to the CB200X will become happy and so the off-road enthusiasts. With its perfect off-roading elements, this motorbike will make a heavy competition with its direct rival Xpulse, if launched.
