After entering the 125cc segment successfully with a launch of Raider 125 & Jupiter 125, TVS Motor Company has announced the launch of updated Apache RTR 160 4V in our country. There's also a talk like the company is working on a entry level ADV based on the Apache 200 and we'll see about that in a separate article. Here, let's know something about the updated naked streetfighter. The manufacturer has also introduced the motorbike with a special edition.
It is also offered in several variants such as drum, single disc and dual disc. Drum variant starts from Rs 1,15,265, single disc variant from Rs 1,17,350 and double disc variant from Rs 1,20,050. Special edition starts from Rs 1,21,372. All the above mentioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
The motorbike is offered in 3 color options such as racing red, metallic blue and knight black. It is also equipped with a new headlight assembly & DRL and dedicated 3 riding modes (urban, sport and rain) like the 200 sibling also along with the gear shift indicator and rear radial tyre. The special edition is further nourished with adjustable brake & clutch levers, exclusive matt black color scheme with red alloys and a new seat pattern. In addition to that, top spec and special edition variant also gets TVS SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity system which enables the rider to access multiple features.
No other mechanical changes were done as the components has been utilised as same as the ongoing model. It is propelled by the same 159.7cc, air+oil cooled, 4V motor producing about max power & torque of 17.63PS & 14.73Nm which is mated to a 5 speed gearbox. Specs of the suspension & braking components too remain the same. With this new updated features, it stands down as a perfect competitor for other rivals such as MT-15, FZ, Gixxer and NS 160.
